2 East Bay leaders killed in Southern California car crash

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA. – Peggy Moore and her wife Hope Wood were killed in an accident in Southern California this weekend.

According to friends, the two East Bay leaders died Friday evening in San Diego County.

Moore helped with former President Obama’s 2008 campaign and was an adviser to former Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf.

In 2019, Moore and her wife Hope founded the political consulting firm Hope Action Change.

“It breaks my heart to hear of the tragic loss of Peggy Moore and Hope Wood. Peggy was a friend, an activist, and one of the best organizers I knew. Her passion and fight for justice and equality brought her and Hope together,” Rep. Barbara Lee said in a statement. “Both Peggy and Hope have made an impact on our community, our city, our state and our nation that will be felt for generations to come.
