Honolulu police are investigating a fatal knife attack in Waianae

Honolulu police have launched a homicide investigation after a man died from a stabbing in Waianae this morning.

According to Honolulu police, the man was found with a fatal injury just before 2 a.m. today on Farrington Highway near Plantation Road.

According to a Honolulu police report, a witness reported that three men were involved in a physical altercation and two of those men fled on foot. The witness observed that the victim, who was in her late 20s to early 30s, suffered a stab wound and was found in the middle of the street. His identity was not immediately released.

A Honolulu Emergency Medical Services report said the man was about 30 years old and was in critical condition after being stabbed in the upper body at Pililaau Community Park at 2:09 a.m. today. EMS administered advanced life-saving treatment to the man, who later died at 2:50 a.m

Police said the stabbing did not appear to be a random act. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers Honolulu at 808-955-8300.

There were no arrests.

The investigation is ongoing.
