Diver Eszter Pryor claims she was sexually abused by Ohio State’s assistant coach starting when she was 16

A former competitive diver says she was just 16 years old when her coach started abusing her.

Eszter Pryor says she dreamed of Olympic glory and wanted to become a world-class diver. At the age of 13, she made it into the trials for the US Olympic team.

Three years later, she landed a spot at Ohio State University’s prestigious diving club, where she says her assistant coach, William Bohonyi, immediately paid special attention.

He sent her a text message that said, “I’m interested in a girl whose name starts with the letter ‘E.'” He allegedly followed up with a photo of his private parts, and she said he asked her for something in return.

She said he asked for “too many” nude photos and then the text messages turned into one-on-one conversations.

“It wasn’t just sex,” she claimed. “It was much worse.”

She added that Bohonyi was “a monster in disguise.”

Pryor said she felt compelled to do the meets because her coach had power over her diving career.

“I really felt like everything I had invested my time in — diving, my name — was going to be lost,” she said.

A teammate’s father found out about the relationship and notified Ohio State University.

Pryor, 21, is suing coach USA Diving and the Ohio State University Diving Club.

“(The coach) took advantage of her age, vulnerability and dreams of becoming an Olympian to make her believe that she was obligated to service him sexually,” the lawsuit says.

The university tells Inside Edition that it “does not tolerate sexual misconduct of any kind,” noting that the coach was fired after a two-week investigation.

USA Diving has placed the trainer on a banned trainer list.

Pryor’s attorney, Robert Allard, says parents need to be careful.

“Don’t blindly trust the organizations you entrust to care for your children,” he said.
