Region II
Bridgeland 7, Forests 6
Bridgeland wins the series, 2-1

Bridgeland held off an emotional comeback from The Woodlands to earn a third victory Saturday at Grand Oaks High School.

The Woodlands (19-14-2) led 6-2 entering the seventh inning, but scored four runs to tie the game. The Bears immediately responded with the game-winning goal in the bottom half of the game to advance to a regional quarterfinal meeting with Klein Oak.

Senior Declan McGee had four points for the Highlanders.

Bridgeland (28-10) led 3-0 after the first inning before the Highlanders closed at 3-2 after three innings. The Bears then scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth to open their advantage 6-2.

Oak Klein 4, Oak Ridge 1
Klein Oak wins the series, 2-1

Sophomore Ben Millhouse pitched a complete game, shutting down the Oak Ridge offense as the Panthers advanced to the regional quarterfinals at Oak Ridge High School.

Klein Oak (22-12-1) will next face The Woodlands or Bridgeland in the Class 6A playoffs. The Panthers won Friday’s game 2-0, forcing a third game.

Oak Ridge, which scored three points in the series, finishes its season with a 22-8 record.

Region III
Cinco Ranch 8, Stratford 3
Cinco Ranch wins the series, 2-1

Zach Franco hit a two-run double, and Lucas Franco pitched a complete game and had a three-run double, propelling Cinco Ranch past Stratford in the deciding series at Cypress Lakes High School.

Cinco Ranch (26-6-4) will face Memorial in the regional quarterfinals.

Zach Franco’s hit came in the first inning while Lucas Franco’s double in the fifth opened a 5-0 lead. An error by Stratford (23-12-1) gave the Cougars another run in the fifth inning for a 6-0 advantage.

Two walks gave the Cougars an 8-0 advantage before Stratford scored three runs in the seventh inning.

Cy-Fair 11, Tompkins 4
Cy-Fair wins the series, 2-1

For the second day in a row, Cy-Fair delivered a strong performance to rally and win its best-of-three series with Tompkins at Langham Creek High School.

After a 4-0 win Friday night, the Bobcats’ bats were productive Saturday in propelling Cy-Fair (26-8-2) into a regional quarterfinal against Katy.

Tompkins (23-15) won the series opener, but couldn’t hold off the talented Bobcats in the final two games.

Deer Park 3, Clear Falls 2
Deer Park wins the series, 2-1

Pinch hitter Jacob McAdams hit a game-winning RBI single in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift Deer Park to an area triumph over Clear Falls at Channelview High School.

The Deer (22-12-1) will next meet District 24-6A runner-up Clear Springs in the regional quarterfinals.

Clear Falls (18-16) led 2-1 after three innings after Brayden Bedingfield’s two-out RBI.

Deer Park tied it in the fifth on Reed Mallett’s sacrifice fly to set up McAdams’ game-winning hit.

Region III
Port Neches-Groves 3, Fulshear 0
Port Neches-Groves wins the series, 2-1

Port Neches-Groves produced early offense and rode Mason Wuenschel’s strong pitching to Fulshear’s shutout of Crosby.

The Indians (24-11) will face Friendswood in the regional quarterfinals while Fulshear finishes its season with a 27-10 record.

Port Neches-Groves led 2-0 after four innings. Reid Richard’s sacrifice fly with the bases loaded produced one of those runs.

The Indians opened a 3-0 advantage when Will Poole was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth inning.

Wuenschel allowed just one hit through the first four innings.

Diboll 12, Bernard Est 2
Diboll wins the series, 2-1

Diboll took a 5-0 lead after three innings and was in control thereafter as the Lumberjacks won the final two games of the series to advance to the playoffs in Navasota.

East Bernard (14-10) closed to 5-2 after three innings, but the Lumberjacks (29-3) scored seven runs over the next two innings to win by a five-inning run rule.
