Cyclist hit and killed by vehicle in Atlanta, police say

ATLANTA — A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Atlanta Sunday afternoon, police said.

The Atlanta Police Department said officers responded to Martin Street SE and Ormond Street SE in reference to a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His age is currently unknown.

As of 6:18 p.m., police have blocked off several roads while they investigate. It is unclear at this time if the vehicle remains at the scene. 11Alive has dispatched a crew to the scene and will update this story as more information becomes available.
