Man arrested for raping and killing 4-year-old girl near Bengaluru

The victim’s mother searched for her until Saturday evening. After asking several people in the neighborhood, she learned that her daughter had last been seen with the defendant. When she called the defendant, he avoided the questions and turned off his cell phone.

She informed the police, who had received information about her body being found on the roadside. After investigating CCTV footage and other technical clues, the police arrested the accused from Kalasipalya in Bengaluru.

A police official said the accused used to visit the victim’s residence frequently. He worked as a daily wage labourer and was arrested earlier for pickpocketing. Police booked him for kidnapping and murder. They also filed charges under the Prevention of Sexual Offences Against Children (Pocso) Act.
