Man shot after chase on Kensington Street – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police made an arrest Monday evening shortly after a man was chased and shot on Allegheny Avenue in Kensington.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Monday when officers were called to assist a police officer at the intersection of Kensington and Allegheny Avenue.

When emergency responders arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times lying in the street at the intersection of G Street and Allegheny Avenue.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 10:53 p.m., according to officials.

An investigation into the incident, according to police officials, revealed that the man was being followed as he crossed the street with a woman and a dark Jeep stopped at the intersection of Kensington and Allegheny Avenue.

A passenger in the Jeep jumped out of the vehicle and began chasing the victim, who then ran away before the suspected shooter fired several shots at him, officials said.

According to police, the shooter fled after the shooting.

Officers arrived at the scene and pursued the suspected shooter and arrested him in the area of ​​3100 Porter Street, officials said.

The 19-year-old suspected shooter was arrested and charges are pending, police said.

The victim in this incident has not yet been identified, police officials said they are waiting to notify the man’s family.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, officials said.
