Three dead in car crash in Greene County

WINDHAM, NY (NEWS10) — Three people have died in a car crash in Greene County. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred on Route 23 in Windham around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.

The sheriff’s office responded to the car crash on Route 23 near Cross Road. Officers determined that the two cars, a Buick SUV and a Chevrolet Silverado, had collided head-on.

The driver of the Silverado, Dennis Rodriguez, 59, of Jewett, and passenger Stephanie Hitchcock, 52, of Windham, were taken to Albany Medical Center. Hitchcock later died of her injuries at the hospital.

The other two occupants of the vehicle, Deborah Hitchcock, 75, and William Hitchcock, 51, both of Windham, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation.
