Victim was killed while trying to stop a suspect from stealing a car

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in which the victim was killed while trying to stop a suspect from stealing his vehicle.

The incident was reported shortly after 1 p.m. in the area of ​​East 29th Street and The Paseo.


According to KCPD, an unknown suspect attempted to steal a white Ford F350 when the owner tried to stop him.

Police said the suspect stole the Ford and drove away, dragging the victim with him. The victim was then dragged from the vehicle and thrown onto the sidewalk. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the suspect left the scene in the stolen Ford without stopping.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
