Every New Buffalo Bills Player Acquired This Offseason (So Far)

We all expected this to be a busy offseason for Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills. But busy was perhaps an understatement.

When the Bills played their final game against the Chiefs at Highmark Stadium in early 2024, we saw many players wear this uniform for the last time. Almost immediately, Brandon Beane and his One Bills Drive front office team got to work.

But saying goodbye to some of our favorite players was only the beginning. He also signed a number of players.

First, who did the Bills lose?

On March 6, the Bills cut a large number of players. They said goodbye to Jordan Poyer, Tre’Davius White, Mitch Morse, Siran Neal, Deonte Hardy and Nyheim Hines.

Stefon Diggs was traded for draft picks to the Houston Texans.

Then they lost players in free agency like Gabriel Davis, Dane Jackson, Leonard Floyd, Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips, Poona Ford, Tyrel Dodson, Trent Sherfield, Linval Joseph, Latavius Murray and Kyle Allen. They all found new teams.

Shaq Lawson, Tyler Matakevich, Linval Joseph, Latavius Murray and Mica Hyde are all still free agents. Damien Harris has decided to retire after 5 years in the league.

Players who were re-signed

The Bills were able to extend players like Dion Dawkins, David Edwards, Quinton Morris, DaQuan Jones and Ty Johnson.

They also re-signed two players who weren’t on the Bills last year but are former Bills, Mitch Trubisky and punter Matt Haack.

So who are they replacing them with?

There were a lot of empty holes on the Buffalo Bills roster after free agency. The Bills didn’t have much choice because they were up against the cap and couldn’t really afford to spend money on all of these players. But as soon as free agency opened in the NFL, Brandon Beane started recruiting players and he nabbed 10 more in the draft.

Here are some of the new names the Bills will head to camp with.

The Buffalo Bills signed ‘futures’ contracts in 2024

These players have all signed what they call “futures contracts” in the NFL. This allows a team to claim the rights to a player as they build the 90-man roster ahead of OTAs and training camp. These are normally small amounts and do not constitute guaranteed contracts.
