Teenager allegedly sexually abused in Santa Cruz

Police are investigating a report involving the alleged sexual abuse of a 16-year-old US citizen.

Due to the nature of the incident, details that would lead to the identification of the victim are omitted.

The incident was reported yesterday and allegedly occurred between July 8 and 13 at a home in Santa Cruz.

The victim stated that she was sexually assaulted by a man she knew in the house where she was staying.

The police were notified and the child protection authority was also informed.

Police are expected to visit the house later this week and question the suspect.

The victim was also sent for medical treatment.
