Rape: 22-year-old raped under pretext of marriage | News from Bhopal

Bhopal: A Jehangirbad based 22 years old Woman, was allegedly befriended by a police officer on social media and raped under the pretext of marriage in a hotel in Jehangirabad. Recently, when the woman pressured her to marry her, he stopped answering his phone. Based on her complaint, the Jehangirabad police registered an rape case against the accused and initiated investigation. Police said the woman had stated in her complaint that she had come in contact with the accused about a year ago through Facebook; he is registered as a police officer in Mhow. She claimed that he had come to Bhopal and called her to meet at a hotel in Jehangirabad, where he raped her on the promise of marriage. He repeatedly exploited her on the pretext of marriage, the woman alleged. When the accused stopped speaking to her in the last few months and she started pressuring him for marriage, the woman decided to report the matter to the police. TNN
