Motorcyclist killed in accident on US 287 in Boulder County

DENVER (KDVR) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Isabelle Road in Boulder County Monday evening.

The Mountain View Fire Department reported that the accident occurred around 6:48 p.m. Initial reports said the motorcyclist “disregarded” a traffic signal and crashed into the rear driver’s door of a Mazda SUV.


The impact caused a fire that engulfed the entire SUV. The driver of the SUV was able to escape the fire through the passenger door.

The motorcyclist did not survive the collision, Mountain View Fire Rescue reported. It is not known whether the SUV driver sustained any injuries.

The Colorado State Patrol, Lafayette Fire Rescue, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, and Erie and Lafayette police departments arrived at the scene.
