Orange County deputy arrested for drunk driving

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. – An Orange County deputy was arrested Wednesday morning for drunken driving, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Thomas Boggs of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office was arrested.

Details of the arrest were not disclosed.

“As law enforcement officers, we must adhere to the highest standards of conduct, whether on or off duty,” Orange County Sheriff John Mina said in a statement. “I am committed to ensuring that those who serve the community as Orange County deputies follow the laws they are responsible for upholding.”

Boggs was hired in May 2015 and worked in the Uniform Patrol Division. He was assigned administrative duties while the investigation was ongoing.

“Once the criminal case is concluded, OCSO will conduct its own internal investigation and will release it upon completion,” the sheriff’s office said.
