Men raped 16-year-old girl after luring her into car

Adilson Domingos, 42, and Baxton Atenis, 29, approached the teenager as she was walking with a friend in central London on July 11, 2021.

They forced her into a car and then drove her to Atenis’ address on Hanover Road in Tottenham, where they both raped her.

The young victim managed to leave the house in the early hours of the following morning and called the police.

She provided police with important details, including a description of the car they were driving, the address they took her to, and Atenis’ number.

Atenis was arrested first before police identified and arrested Domingos, of Damask Crescent in West Ham, via a social media profile.

After a three-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court in February, both men were found guilty of rape.

On Monday (July 1), Atenis was sentenced to 13 years in prison and Domingos to 12 years in prison.

Detective Constable Daniella Biggins, who led the investigation, said: “Domingos and Atenis are extremely dangerous, predatory individuals who targeted a young girl and isolated her from her friends before raping her.

“With the support of her wonderful family and friends, the victim showed tremendous courage and bravery in assisting a police investigation. I would like to personally thank her for the strength she showed and also the witnesses who gave evidence.

“I can only hope that the conviction will help provide closure for the victim from this horrific experience while also helping to keep these dangerous individuals off the streets.

“I would encourage anyone who is a victim or witness of a sexual assault to contact the police. You will be listened to and specially trained officers will assist you in any criminal investigation.

“There is no tolerance for such serious crimes and this conviction is a reminder that the perpetrators of these horrific crimes will be found and brought to justice.”
