1 dead in shooting in California, 2 teenagers arrested

Police said in a social media post that around 11:05 p.m., a ShotSpotter spotted multiple gunshots outside a home on North Pearl Street. Several callers said they heard gunshots and a man screaming.A 33-year-old man was found on the ground and life-saving measures were attempted. “He was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in a social media post. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.Witnesses said they saw a possible perpetrator, a Latino man wearing dark clothing, walking northbound along North Pearl Street. Evidence collected during the investigation led the SWAT team to execute a search warrant on a home on North Pearl Street Thursday morning.During those searches, two juveniles were arrested in connection with the murder, Salinas Interim Chief John Murray said. They were both charged with murder, robbery and gang-related crimes and were taken to a juvenile detention center. Salinas police said they are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.

Police said in a social media post that a ShotSpotter spotted multiple gunshots outside a home on North Pearl Street around 11:05 p.m. Several callers said they heard gunshots and a man screaming.

A 33-year-old man was found on the ground and life-saving measures were attempted. “He was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in a social media post.

He was taken to Natividad Medical Center and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Witnesses said they saw a possible suspect, a dark-clothed man of Latino descent, walking north on North Pearl Street.

Based on evidence collected during the investigation, the SWAT team executed a search warrant on a home on North Pearl Street on Thursday morning.

During those searches, two juveniles were arrested in connection with the murder, said Salinas’ interim chief John Murray. Both were charged with murder, robbery and gang-related crimes and taken to the juvenile detention center.

Murray says they are still looking for a third suspect who is believed to be involved in the murder.
