1 dead in shooting in California, 2 teenagers arrested

Salinas police said they are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night.Video in media player above from previous coverage. Police said in a social media post that around 11:05 p.m., a ShotSpotter spotted multiple gunshots outside a home on North Pearl Street. Several callers said they heard gunshots and a man screaming.A 33-year-old man was found on the ground and life-saving measures were attempted. “He was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in a social media post. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.Witnesses said they saw a possible perpetrator, a Latino man wearing dark clothing, walking northbound along North Pearl Street. Evidence collected during the investigation led the SWAT team to execute a search warrant on a home on North Pearl Street Thursday morning.During those searches, two juveniles were arrested in connection with the murder, Salinas Interim Chief John Murray said. They were both charged with murder, robbery and gang-related crimes and were taken to a juvenile detention center.
