Louisiana woman arrested for puppy theft

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two women in connection with a stolen puppy case from Loranger. The sheriff’s office reported Thursday that Sarah Folse, 31, and Deanna Witten, 52, both of Amite, turned themselves in to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. They were each arrested on charges of theft and trespassing. According to the sheriff’s office, the whereabouts of the three stolen puppies are still unknown. Officers said they were called to a home in the 17000 block of Highway 40 on Saturday, June 22, after the homeowner reported two women letting three German Shepherd puppies off their leashes. When officers arrived, the owner said they pulled into his driveway in an unidentified white car, got out and grabbed the puppies from the back porch. Tangipahoa officials said, “We have also seen the concerns raised by individuals on social media and have responded both there and in this updated press release. You will see the line where the homeowner mentions that the dogs had been taken outside shortly before the suspects arrived on the property. And while some pointed out that no water sources are seen in the video, investigators confirmed that there were water sources and at least two are seen in the video.” According to the homeowner, he was alerted to the activity by his home surveillance video shortly after he took the pups outside for a quick bathroom break. Sheriff Gerald Sticker is asking anyone with information on the pups’ whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 985-748-3335.
