New Dome Expo in the Dead Sea to be opened with an investment of 120 million NIS

After much anticipation, the Dome Expo Dead Sea, a sprawling new conference center for concerts, congresses, business events and international festivals, is set to open next month in the Dead Sea area. Built with an investment of around NIS 120 million, this state-of-the-art facility can accommodate up to 5,000 participants. Its design includes a huge inflatable dome 23 meters high, which looks like a giant golf ball from a distance and stretches over five dunams.

Dome Expo is located in the Ein Bokek district, just a 15-minute walk from the Dead Sea Mall, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open next year.

The technical operation of the complex will be managed by Point 2 Point, a group specializing in modern TV studios and outside broadcast trucks, as well as technical equipment for conferences, meetings, business events, performances and exhibitions. Point 2 Point was selected from numerous competitors and will oversee all technical aspects of the new Expo, including amplification, lighting, LED screens, multimedia, outside broadcast trucks, satellite communications, laser projectors and more. The group has already installed world-class sound and lighting systems worth millions of shekels in the complex.

Erez Kuriel, CEO and owner of Point 2 Point, described the project as a professional challenge of an international level. “We are ready to bring the international experience to Israel and offer the Israeli cultural and music consumer an experience on par with the concert halls of Las Vegas and Dubai. Point 2 Point is ready for this challenge thanks to our extensive experience in managing video and audio systems for major events, congresses and conferences in Israel. I thank the developers for their trust in choosing us to manage the complex for the next decade.”

In addition, the venue is equipped for live broadcasting of events to any location in Israel and worldwide.

The Dome Expo aims to revitalize local and international tourism at the Dead Sea. Despite being a global natural wonder, the area has struggled in recent decades to offer vibrant cultural and culinary experiences to its numerous visitors.

Built in the form of a highly visible dome similar to international venues such as the O2 Arena in London, the Dome Expo structure was raised several months ago using air pressure from giant compressors.

Negotiations are currently underway with major content providers in Israel to host several festivals at the complex in 2025, including beer festivals. Friday Shabbat services featuring leading artists are also planned for the benefit of hotel guests in the Dead Sea area.

The project, which began construction in 2020 but has been delayed due to the pandemic and conflicts, is backed by developer and landowner Moti Green, owner of Barclays Initiatives and the Flying Carpet company.
