Kochi: The survivor of the rape case against film director Omar Lulu alleges that he intoxicated her with MDMA-laced drinks and then brutally raped her. In her petition to the Supreme Court seeking involvement in Lulu’s bail application, she also alleged that he sexually abused her under false promises of marriage and opportunities in future films. The bench of Justice CS Dias allowed her to be included as a respondent in Lulu’s application. She vehemently opposed Lulu’s bail application, arguing that he made false promises of marriage while concealing his existing marriage. She further stated that Lulu, his driver and one of his friends had been regularly contacting her over the phone to urge her to settle the case. She added that these calls were recorded and she was ready to present this evidence in court. The survivor alleged that the accused was a very influential person and if released on bail, he was likely to tamper with evidence and intimidate witnesses. The court then adjourned the bail hearing to July 22 to consider the new evidence. The court also extended the temporary restraining order preventing Lulu’s arrest.
