Man killed by dogs in Snyder, investigation ongoing | KTAB

SNYDER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An investigation is underway after a man was killed in a dog attack in Snyder.

On June 27 at 6:01 a.m., Snyder Police and Scurry County EMS responded to the 2900 block of Avenue J to investigate a report of a person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, they discovered a man dead.


The man was identified as 40-year-old Toby Bryan Berkley. According to a press release, Berkley was reportedly walking down the street and was killed in a dog attack. This was confirmed by an autopsy and preliminary findings.

The two dogs involved in the attack and their owner have been identified. The dogs are being housed at the Snyder Animal Shelter.

The Texas Rangers are assisting in this investigation; no further information has been released.
