Parker police are searching for a suspected kidnapping suspect near a school in Colorado

Police in Parker were searching for a suspected kidnapping suspect near three schools Wednesday morning. Investigators were searching for a suspect and a suspicious vehicle involved in the incident at Frontier Valley Elementary School.

Shortly before 9 a.m., a student told a school staff member that a man, possibly in his 50s, with gray hair and a mustache in a black Audi sedan, approached him and started talking to him. The student was not harmed. Police believe this happened in the 23000 block of Bay Oaks Ave, which is off campus for nearby schools.

Legend High School, Cimarron Middle School and Frontier Valley, Iron Horse and Pioneer Elementary have been placed on safe status “as a precautionary measure,” according to police. That safe status was lifted shortly before noon on Wednesday.

Officers began patrolling the neighborhood looking for the vehicle. In an update, Parker PD confirmed that the suspect vehicle also had dark tinted windows, a roof rack and a Colorado license plate.

The schools were expected to maintain their security status until officers found the vehicle or neighborhood patrols were completed.
