Vienna discusses township revenue with residents amid investigation in Vienna Township, Ohio

VIENNA TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – The Town of Vienna will host a “Where Does the Money Come From?” meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Matthews School, 4429 Warren-Sharon Road, to discuss the township’s revenue sources.

The meeting comes as the municipality is under investigation and scrutiny over a $1.3 million budget deficit that has led to layoffs of emergency workers and anger among residents.

The meeting, hosted by Vienna Township Treasurer Corine Hardman, will discuss property taxes, state and federal funding, local revenues, special levies and other various revenue sources.

In addition, citizens have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

“The presentation is intended to provide transparency and clarity about where our community’s money comes from and how it is used,” Hardman said in a press release.

The press release also states that residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting.
