Nurse charged with sexually abusing 90-year-old after posting photo

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – A Tennessee nurse is accused of sexually abusing her elderly patient after allegedly posting an illegal photo of him on social media.

According to Covington police, 34-year-old Cecily Ware was charged with sexual exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable person, taking unauthorized photographs in a private space and neglect of an elderly or vulnerable person.

According to Covington police, detectives received a report from the state Adult Protective Services on June 12. A 90-year-old man reportedly told APS that his caregiver had taken photos of him while he was only partially clothed.

After Ware was identified as the caregiver, she was brought in for questioning, according to Covington police. Police said investigators learned that Ware had taken a photo of the “compromised” patient in his wheelchair and posted it on Snapchat.

Ware was booked into the Tipton County Jail and held on $50,000 bail. Covington police said she has since been released.
