Arrest in Akron murder investigation: Police

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Thursday in a March homicide investigation.

Officials said 43-year-old Bryan Lee McNeil of Akron was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso near a shed in the 600 block of W. Waterloo Road around 12:45 a.m. on March 13.

McNeil later succumbed to his injuries.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office arrested 76-year-old Harry Wilkinson after an arrest warrant was issued for his connection to the incident.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Wilkinson was charged with involuntary manslaughter and booked into the Summit County Jail.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said investigators received additional information in the months following the shooting to help identify a suspect.
