Green Life Farms recalls baby arugula due to salmonella concerns – WGAU

A Florida company has issued a voluntary recall of a baby arugula product after discovering salmonella in a batch shipped to Publix supermarket and Greenwise stores.

According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Green Life Farms of Lake Worth Beach has initiated a voluntary recall of 4-ounce containers of baby arugula.

The recalled product has lot number LW15124, a best before date of June 15, 2024, and was delivered to Publix stores on May 31.

According to the FDA, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.

“The potential for contamination was identified after routine testing by the company revealed the presence of Salmonella in a single crop of baby arugula,” the agency said in a statement.

Green Life Farms has taken “immediate corrective action” and further crops will not be affected, the company said.

The FDA urged consumers who purchased baby arugula with the affected lot number to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
