Report says a man was arrested after destroying computers at two branches of the Nashville Public Library

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was arrested after he allegedly destroyed a computer and assaulted another man at a library in Nashville, according to an arrest report.

On April 27, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Metro Nashville Police Department officers were alerted to a fight at the Richland Park branch of the Nashville Public Library.

According to the report, 26-year-old Dominic Wishaw went into the library, sat in the corner and pulled a “large” alcoholic drink out of his bag.

Library staff approached Wishaw and informed him that he was not allowed to drink alcohol in the library.

Police said Wishaw then became angry and shouted: “I’m going to kill someone here and it’s going to be you.”

Wishaw then allegedly grabbed a computer monitor from the table, slammed it back to the floor and hit the screen, the report said. The damage to the computer totaled more than $1,200, according to police.

Wishaw then stormed down one of the hallways where he allegedly began attacking a man. Wishaw pulled out a pocket knife and charged at him, the report said. According to the report, to protect himself, the man picked up a chair and threw it at Wishaw.

The man escaped the fight and Wishaw left.

Two days after the first incident at the library, Wishaw was arrested after destroying another computer at the downtown branch of the Nashville Public Library, according to the arrest report.
