A minor accident turns into a serious accident on the Schuylkill, in which two women fight for their lives: PSP

What began as a minor accident on the Schuylkill Expressway turned into a horrific ordeal for those involved when the minor accident turned into a serious accident that left two women fighting for their lives.

Two vehicles, an SUV and a rental van, were traveling on the highway around 3 a.m. early Saturday morning when they were involved in a minor accident near the South Street exit, Pennsylvania State Police officials said.

They turned right. Two women from the SUV got out and were talking to the driver of the van when a dump truck driving in the right lane crashed into the back of the van, which in turn hit the two women.

The two women and another person were taken to a local hospital. The third injured person was treated and is in stable condition, according to authorities.

The women, aged 24 and 25, were seriously injured and are in extremely critical condition.
