Buffalo man surrenders 27 dogs to Erie County SPCA

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man abandoned more than two dozen dogs, saying he felt overwhelmed and needed help.

“Sometimes we all need a helping hand,” the Erie County SPCA posted on social media Wednesday, explaining how it was able to help a man who owned 27 dogs.

The man contacted the SPCA, who then worked with the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, Pixie Mamas Rescue and the Puppy Mill Rescue Team to bring in the dogs.

“This compassionate pet owner realized he could not provide the care his dogs needed, putting them at risk, and sought help,” the SPCA said, later adding : “We are truly grateful to be able to support this caring pet owner.”
