Child killed in rollover accident on I-57 near Washington Heights

A child was killed in a rollover accident on I-57 on Monday, Illinois State Police said.

State police responded to reports of a crash in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 107th Street around 7:17 p.m. and found a dead child inside the car, police said. Other occupants of the car were taken to nearby hospitals, but the number of occupants and their conditions were unclear.

The two right lanes of northbound I-57 were closed for the ongoing investigation.
