By Saturday evening, the thunderstorms should gradually die down as the weather begins to cool. This will lead to a damp night and there could be a return of fog on Sunday morning. Sunday could be similar to Saturday. This would mean a sunny start to the day followed by more isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon, some of which could be strong to severe. It shouldn’t rain all day and in fact the rainfall amounts might not be quite as great as Saturday. But it will be another day to keep a close eye on the skies, especially in the afternoon hours.

Signs continue to point to drier weather returning early next week. With it still a bit humid, a few sudden showers can’t be completely ruled out, but the chances of organized thunderstorms are much lower unless more thunderstorm clusters form in Texas and head our way. But remember: less rain means it will get warmer, with afternoon highs rising back into the 30s next week and the heat index could be back to 38 degrees!
