Officials say a Massachusetts fugitive known as the “Bad Breath Rapist” has been captured

(WGGB/WSHM) — Authorities say a Massachusetts rape suspect who was on the run for nearly two decades is now in custody.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Tuen Kit Lee, known by the nickname “Dickie,” was arrested Tuesday in Danville, California.

Lee fled Massachusetts in 2007 during his trial after being convicted of rape and kidnapping.

The media had dubbed Lee the “rapist with bad breath” because his victim could identify him by that name.

Last year, a reward of up to $10,000 was offered for information leading to his capture.

Then earlier this year, Massachusetts State Police discovered images on social media that appeared to show Lee.

Police were able to trace these images back to a flower shop owner in Diablo, California, who had been with Lee for 15 years and did not know his true identity.
