A massive tornado in Mahanoy City triggered a warning in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Monday.

A massive tornado in Mahanoy City prompted a warning in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Monday. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned residents of Schuylkill County and surrounding areas of a possible tornado in the region. Several videos of the gigantic tornado moving through residential areas in the evening were widely shared online.

The NWS office in State College has issued a tornado warning for northeast Lancaster County in southern Pennsylvania. The warning will remain in effect until 9:00 p.m. (EDT).

This came after the weather agency, through radar-based rotation, located a severe thunderstorm with the potential to produce a tornado over Rothsville at around 8:24 p.m. local time. The thunderstorm was moving southeast at a speed of 15 miles per hour.
