Zamfara APC suspends MPs for alleged anti-party activities

The Zamfara State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the suspension of Hon Sani Jaji, Member of Parliament for Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

A statement by party spokesperson Yusuf Idris said the confirmation of Hon Jaji’s suspension from the party followed a communication from the Birnin Magaji District Executive Committee of the APC ordering him to lift the suspension.

The decision was taken yesterday at an emergency meeting of the party’s national executive committee, where the matter of Hon Jaji’s suspension was put on the table and discussed in detail.
“At the meeting, a committee of inquiry into anti-party activities set up in the wake of the 2023 Zamfara State gubernatorial election was presented to the state committee for deliberation by members,” he added.

According to him, the findings of the committee as contained in its report dated July 2023 also denounced Honourable Aminu Sani Jaji and his direct involvement in anti-party activities and recommended his immediate suspension pending review and deliberation by the State Disciplinary Committee and subsequent ratification by the State Executive Committee.

“The seven-member State Disciplinary Committee also recommended his suspension from the party as he did not appear before the committee despite several invitations. Now, the State Executive Committee has reviewed the previous findings of the State Disciplinary Committee, agreed with its recommendations and decided to suspend him based on the findings,” he said.
