Tina Knowles praises Kelly Rowland for her handling of the security incident in Cannes

Beyonce‘s mother, Tina Knowlesmeans Kelly Rowland has easily overcome an incident with the security team at the Cannes Film Festival.

“And just like that, @kellyrowland graces another carpet with her incredible beauty, class and grace!!!!,” Knowles, 70, wrote on Instagram on Thursday, May 23, sharing shots of Rowland, 43, on the red carpet as she wore Evan Ross And Joe Jonas.

She continued: “Sipping champagne and living her best life. Just goes to show a stupid monkey won’t stop not showing up!!! On to bigger and better things❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

Rowland went viral on Tuesday, May 21, when she attended the festival premiere of Marcello Mio. As the singer was being led up the stairs, she appeared to berate a security guard at her side by pointing her finger in his direction.

“The woman knows what happened, I know what happened,” Rowland told the Associated Press on Thursday. “I have boundaries and I stand by those boundaries and that’s all.”

According to Rowland, there were other women at the premiere who “didn’t quite look like (her).”

“They were not verbally abused, pushed away or told to get out,” she added. “I stood firm, and she felt she had to make her point. But I stood firm.”

The connection between Rowland and Knowles goes back a long way, as the 42-year-old Beyoncé played alongside Rowland in the girl group Destiny’s Child. Beyoncé and Rowland were accompanied by Michelle Williamsall rocked many of the now iconic red carpet and music video outfits designed by Knowles.

“My mother has always been committed to making women feel beautiful,” said Beyoncé The New York Times in 2017. “Whether it was having someone sit in her hairdresser’s chair or sewing a ball gown for one of the girls at church.”
