Police are investigating a possible knife attack at 24 Hour Fitness in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida — Police are investigating a possible knife attack reported at a Miami Gardens gym Thursday evening.

Shortly after 6 p.m. after the incident occurred, people could be seen walking outside the 24 Hour Fitness at 19731 NW 27th Ave. cleaned up.

The gym was temporarily closed but has since reopened.

A spokesperson for 24 Hour Fitness confirmed to Local 10 News in a statement Friday that the incident involved two gym members.

“We can confirm that there was an incident between two members at our Miami Gardens location. There was an injury and the victim was transported to a nearby medical facility,” the statement said. “Our thoughts are with the victim and hope for a speedy recovery. We cannot comment on an ongoing police investigation and ask that further questions be directed to the City of Miami Gardens Police Department.”

Miami Gardens police have not yet released any further details about the incident.
