INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was arrested Saturday for his alleged role in a shooting incident involving three teenagers in the city’s northeast area, police said.

Jefferey Ware, 37, was arrested for criminal recklessness, dangerous handling of a firearm, endangering a child, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, IMPD responded to a call in the 2300 block of Hillside Avenue after receiving reports that someone had fired shots in an apartment complex.

According to police, witnesses said a man and three younger people fired the gun several times before entering an apartment again.

Officers obtained footage of the incident that shows a large man firing the gun and then passing it to three younger individuals. Officers say the youths were between the ages of 10 and 14.

After searching Ware’s apartment and vehicle, two handguns, several cartridge cases and 80 grams of marijuana were found.
