Houston police are investigating a shooting on Ashcroft Drive that left a 16-year-old boy injured before the suspect fled in a pickup truck.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 16-year-old boy was injured in gunfire in southwest Houston on Friday, police said.

Houston Police Department officers are investigating the shooting that occurred in the 6300 block of Ashcroft Drive.

Police said the teenager was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect is said to have fled in a blue van.

It is still unclear how the incident happened.
