Man convicted of rape in San Ramon

SAN RAMON, CA — A Mountain House man has been convicted of a 2021 rape in San Ramon, according to reports from Danville-San Ramon and The East Bay Times.

Qais Faizi, 35, was found guilty in 2021 of three counts of raping a drugged or intoxicated woman at a party in San Ramon. In January, Faizi was sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted in November of raping a woman in San Jose. The conviction in San Ramon could add up to 18 years to his sentence.

The San Ramon victim came to police and authorities matched her rape test to DNA collected during the investigation into the case in San Jose, authorities told the Bay Area News Group.

Faizi is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Center and his sentencing is scheduled for August.
