Minor injuries reported in Ray County crash; driver charged with drunk driving

On July 19, 2024 at 8:25 p.m., a single-vehicle accident involving a 2001 Honda Civic occurred on W 120th Street at the corner of N Gardner Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver, Nathan W. Shore, 43, of Richmond, Missouri, failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle then left the roadway, was thrown into the air and struck a tree.

Shore, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, suffered minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene. The Honda Civic was a total loss and was towed from the scene by Green’s Tow.

Police charged Shore with driving while intoxicated, failing to drive on the right side of the road, causing an accident, not wearing a seatbelt, and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was taken to the Richmond Police Department and held for 12 hours.

The Ray County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
