Cam Akers trains with Houston

The Texans welcomed Akers (Achilles) back for practice Sunday, KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports.

Akers tore his Achilles tendon for the second time in his career last November and ended the season on IR. Before his injury, the veteran had rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on 60 carries and added 70 yards receiving on 11 receptions in seven games between the Rams and Vikings. Houston is looking to add depth at running back behind starter Joe Mixon and backup Dameon Pierce, among others.
