Man flees accident on Cherry Lane in Horine | Accidents

Authorities are searching for a man and a juvenile after a crash near Cherry Lane and Hazelwood Court in Horine on the evening of July 12 when the pickup truck they were in crashed and overturned. The driver allegedly grabbed the juvenile and the pair fled the scene, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

A witness reported hearing the crash, which occurred around 10:10 p.m., and then seeing the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado spin and come to a stop on its roof. The witness heard a teenage passenger screaming and helped the teen out of the overturned vehicle, sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell said.

The witness further reported that the driver, a white man, grabbed the teen’s arm and the two ran north. The pickup truck was damaged and towed from the scene, Bissell said.

As of Friday, July 19, the driver had not been located and no arrests had been made, Bissell said.
