FDA and CDC are currently conducting investigations into recalled products

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A health alert has been issued on a number of items that have been recalled.

The Food and Drug Administration reports that an investigation is underway into people possibly becoming ill or dying from Diamond Shruumz products. According to the FDA, 69 people have reported illnesses and one death is under investigation.

“Sick individuals reported neurological symptoms including seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness), agitation, abnormal heart rate, hypertension/hypotension, and nausea and vomiting,” according to the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

Despite a recall and a request to remove all branded products from shelves, ODA claims the products remain available for purchase on the shelves of smoke, vape and other stores in Ohio.

Microdosing chocolate bars, chocolate flavored wafers, and micro and megadosing/extreme gummies are just some of the products the company produces.

The company’s website states that production of all products has been discontinued.

“In coordination with the FDA, we have initiated a RECALL and discontinued production and distribution of all Diamond Shruumz products,” Diamond Shruumz’s website states.
