AUBURN, Wash. – Auburn police are working to solve the city’s latest homicide after a shooting left a 16-year-old boy dead and two teens injured.

Police were called to A Street Southeast, near 6th Street Southeast, around 10:45 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 16-year-old boy with at least one gunshot wound.

A viewer said he filmed the aftermath of the crime scene and shared the following photo with us.

First responders attempted to save the teenager’s life, but he later succumbed to his injuries at the scene, investigators said.

Investigators said two other male juveniles with gunshot wounds were found and taken to a hospital.

Both teenagers were released.

Police told KIRO 7 News that there was no further information on the condition or age of the two injured teens, but as of Saturday afternoon there were no suspects.

Very few details are available; there is also information about the relationship between the three teenagers and who fired the shots.

We spoke to a witness who said the shooting occurred more than 25 yards away from her in the parking lot of a gas station.

She shared a cellphone video capturing the aftermath of the crime scene.

For security reasons, she did not want to be identified.

“We saw three young men walking around with ski masks,” she said.

She said as the three teens ran to a nearby parking lot, her maternal instincts took over and she tried to help one of the teens who had been shot in the arm.

“We tried to apply pressure and the young man ran away,” she said.

When security caught up with the other two teens, all three ran back toward A Street and jumped into a vehicle that drove away, she told KIRO 7 News.

The witness said she ran to A Street and saw the 16-year-old boy on the sidewalk and street.

“It was a little boy. His eyes were already looking up at the sky. I tried to talk to him. He didn’t answer me. So I went downstairs to check his pulse, but he had a gunshot wound,” she said. “I felt terrible since I saw this young man lying on the ground.”

“It is something that needs to bring our community together and change, otherwise our communities will fall apart and it will in turn ruin our future generations, the younger children,” she added.

KIRO 7 News also spoke to a gas station employee who said no one in the building witnessed the shooting Friday night.
