AG commits sexual violence against man

A former Excelsior Springs resident has been committed to the Missouri Department of Mental Health after Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s Sexually Violent Predator Unit (SVP) was successful in its efforts. Harry Richardson, 47, was committed after a day-long hearing in Ray County Court where the judge found him to be a sexually violent offender. “As Attorney General, my top priority is to protect all six million Missourians, especially from sexually violent offenders who seek to harm our most vulnerable,” Bailey said. “Offenders who are likely to commit further predatory acts of sexual violence must be taken off the streets and provided with the treatment they need. My dedicated team will continue to work around the clock to keep our communities safe.” Richardson has been diagnosed with pedophilia and has been convicted of sex crimes three times since 1999, when he pleaded guilty to second-degree child molestation and was sentenced to three years in prison.
