Sisters attacked after father held at gunpoint in East Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – A man is in jail after police say he pistol-whipped his ex-girlfriend and then shot her sister in East Memphis two months ago.

Alvin Lloyd, 27, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault. His bail was set at $100,000.

On May 11, Memphis police responded to a call about a shooting on McDuff Avenue. The victim stated he was outside his home when he was approached by two armed men, later identified as Alvin Lloyd and his brother Dalvin Lloyd.

While the two suspects held the victim at gunpoint, they ordered him to call his daughter and ask her to come over, police said.

The victim’s two daughters both arrived in a white Nissan Maxima. That’s when Alvin, armed with two pistols, approached the passenger side, screaming and banging on the car window.

Alvin reportedly opened the passenger door and pointed the gun at both women before hitting his ex-girlfriend on the head with the pistol, firing a shot that hit the sister in the stomach.

As the women drove away from the crime scene, Alvin and Dalvin are said to have fired several shots at them.

The sisters were taken to Regional One Hospital where their injuries were treated. One sister had a cut above her right eye and the other had a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

According to police, there was a bullet hole in the driver’s door of the Nissan Maxima and nine empty shell casings were found at the scene.

The father and one of his daughters clearly identified Alvin as the person responsible.

Alvin Lloyd is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

There are currently no reports of charges against Dalvin Lloyd.
