Murder investigations underway in the University City area

CHARLOTTE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a homicide in Charlotte’s University City neighborhood.

According to officials, the victim in this case was taken to the hospital at 8800 North Tryon Street and later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Detectives are working to find a crime scene.

This is the fifth murder and sixth death in Charlotte in the last 36 hours.

There is no information yet about the suspects or the background to the shooting.
