Investigations into the Mingo shooting are ongoing

West Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday morning in Mingo County.

The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. this morning. Police were dispatched to Lenore, where an altercation occurred and a man was shot. According to state police, the victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

As of this afternoon, no charges have been filed in connection with the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing.

Police were called to the Lenore area around 5 a.m. Friday morning. One person was reportedly injured in the shooting.
