Police chase and crash in East Cleveland on May 9, 2024

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – A police chase that started in East Cleveland lasted more than 30 minutes and ended in a crash in Cleveland.

The pursuit took place around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. According to East Cleveland police, officers were pursuing a vehicle suspected of being involved in an aggravated burglary.

Two suspects fled the vehicle and were taken into custody. A third suspect continued driving and eventually crashed into an East Cleveland patrol car near the intersection of East 130^Th Street and Parkhill Avenue.

The suspect vehicle continued driving after the accident and fled.

The officer involved is OK, but the patrol car was damaged and would not start.
