One dead and one injured in motorcycle accident in Killeen | KWKT

KILLEEN, Texas (FOX 44) – A 39-year-old man died and a 27-year-old man was injured in a motorcycle crash in Killeen.

On Sunday at approximately 11:36 p.m., Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Hackberry Drive to investigate a car crash involving a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 GMC van was traveling south on MLK and turned left onto Hackberry Drive. A 2017 Suzuki motorcycle, occupied by two people, was traveling north on MLK and struck the van at a very high rate of speed.


According to police, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 11:51 p.m. The passenger was taken by Killeen Fire Department ambulance to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, but the passenger was. The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
