Unedited Youth gets 20 years RI for kidnapping, raping a 12-year-old girl and filming the act near Cuddalore | India News

Cuddalore: Judge (Special Pocso Court) ST Lakshmi Ramesh on Tuesday sentenced a 25-year-old man to 20 years of imprisonment for raping a 12-year-old schoolgirl in a village near Vridhachalam in Cuddalore district in March last year.

The judge also sentenced the youth, identified as S. Jeeva, to ten years in prison for kidnapping the minor girl and five years in prison for filming the crime on his mobile phone. All sentences will be served concurrently.

According to the prosecution, the minor girl, then a seventh-grade student at a government boarding school, was on March 7 with her friends on a government bus returning to school after visiting her parents during the vacation. She remembered that she had forgotten some school books at home and got down at a bus stop.

She went to a youth and asked him to call her mother on her cellphone and tell her that she was coming home to collect the school books. The youth offered to drop her at her house. But he took her to a remote place and sexually abused her there. He also filmed the act before leaving her in her village. The girl narrated the incident to her mother, who filed a complaint with the Veppur police.
